I have started the paintings for the book Mustang Canyon written by Jonathan London to be published by Candlewick Publishers in Spring 2002. The inspiration for the paintings in this book come from the many photographs my daughter Yvette and her friends, Kelly and Susan, took when they hiked into Zion National Park for two weeks. The photographs really captured the magic and the colors of the desert. It helps to have an adventurous daughter with a keen eye for composition!

I am also starting the art for a new book, Frightful's Daughter written by the beloved Newberry-Award winning author, Jean Craighead George. The release for this book will be 2002 and it will be published by Dutton Publishers. This book will be a picture book sequel to the the trilogy, My Side of the Mountain.

The Dangerous Snake and Reptile Club is a funny story I have just completed about growing up in Berkeley with my brothers, author Robert San Souci, and Michael. I am in the process of trying to find a publisher for this book. It is the first of a series of stories I plan to write about three brothers growing up together.

Gizmo The Almost Ghost is a story I have written about ghost-like creature that is the star attraction in a "Traveling Scar-a-rama." When Gizmo decides that life has become boring. Unfortunately for Gizmo, he ends up dealing with two grand kids and a grandmother who are scarier than even he is. This is another book that I am starting to shop around for a publisher.
